There are currently two models of zoo code being used.
The original one was started by Actaeon and Hobbes in December 1996, and it was inspired by other codes such as the geek code and the furry code. It has many variables, so as to cover as much information as possible about oneself, though it is in no way mandatory to use them all.
An example of zoo code using this model:
ZC v1.46: Zhm%DE/D/H/W a~30 Y-13/-15 EC1/D2.5+/H2.5 L1 ADE1/D3/H2/W2 LV4 VG0 AR-1 R2+ N-1 K2/2 VD pD2/HC1 U0 OB2 D2 H1 PP2 T2 G4 O2 C? S2 ZP3.5 X0 F2 PL2 MLI1/SF1/JF1/PA1/TZ0/FI1w/FM1 I1 TS2 W3 NG1 |
A simpler zoo code made by DogPhux was released in 2004, posted in Actaeon's boards, and was later revised in 2006. This other version has less variables, so it is easier to read and remember, but it is not as complete.

The zoo code you should choose will depend on your likes and necessities. Both models remain usable. You can check this webpage occasionally for further updates.
The ones who are already familiar with the traditional zoo code might want to check it again, as there has been some important changes since the previous versions were released.
